Benchmark Physical Therapy - Aquatic Therapy

AQUATIC THERAPY

The area’s most advanced aquatic therapy program.

With two SwimEx pools featuring resistive current and one static pool with an aquatic access lift chair onsite, we offer the most advanced, complete aquatic therapy program in the area. It’s ideal for treating patients with arthritis, chronic pain, fibromyalgia and other conditions that make land-based therapy intolerable. Our primary emphasis in aquatic therapy is proper posture, joint alignment and trunk stabilization with less stress and reduced weightbearing.

Our goal is to transition patients from the static pool to the resistive current, then on to land-based therapy. Patients are always treated with dignity, respect and heartfelt compassion. We do all we can to make the physical therapy experience positive, fun and enjoyable.

ASTYM

ASTYM treatment is a physical/occupational therapy treatment that regenerates healthy soft tissues (muscles, tendons, etc.), and eliminates or reduces unwanted scar tissue that may be causing pain or movement restrictions.

ASTYM treatment is non-invasive, which means there are no injections or incisions. ASTYM treatment stimulates tissue turnover, scar tissue resorption, and the regeneration of tendons, muscles and other soft tissue structures.

Work Conditioning/Work Hardening

Our work conditioning / work hardening program focuses on preparing patients for a safe return to work after an injury. The program includes instruction about posture, proper body mechanics, correct lifting techniques, strengthening, endurance and simulation of work tasks. We are able to simulate many work tasks. We evaluate the whole patient and teach patients how to prevent future work injuries. On site facilities enable the patient to simulate their work environment and duties. Our comprehensive program consists of daily sessions for up to four hours, five days a week.

Work Injuries

Forceful, prolonged or repetitive motions, frequent or heavy lifting, moving or carrying heavy objects and awkward postures can all contribute to work injuries. Work conditions that combine these risk factors will also increase the risk for musculoskeletal injuries. Our patient care starts with an extensive evaluation of the problem. Then we develop a personalized treatment program. We have the training, education and ability to resolve work-related injuries. Our work conditioning program is designed to bring about pain relief and return to function. The goal of our customized therapy is to improve the patient’s ability to perform work tasks safely while reducing their pain.

Sports Injuries

An injury is one of the worst things that can happen to an athlete. It doesn’t matter whether one is a professional baseball or football player, a tennis player, a high-school athlete or a casual weekend warrior. The last thing one wants is to be sidelined by any kind of injury.

We offer expert rehab services designed to get people back to their sports in a timely manner after injury or surgery. We go beyond traditional physical therapy by developing customized rehab programs based on each person’s specific condition and specific sport with the goal of helping them maximize strength, flexibility, endurance and overall function.
